Lucky us, when we sin and do things that upset God, He doesnt want to get us back, hold a grudge, or start drama! He's not going to ignore us for a week or give us the cold shoulder. God does get upset with us, but not out of hatred or spite. God isn't a teenage girl and doesnt react to sin the way we do. God gets upset because He loves us.
When we sin and do things we shouldn't, it hurts not only God, but us. He may get upset, but it's because He wants the best for us, and the best for us is Him! God wants us to talk to Him about it through prayer and lean on Him for forgiveness and mercy.
"But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness." -Psalm 86:15
God may get upset with us when we sin, but that doesn't mean He stops loving us. All He wants is for us to come to Him and ask for forgivness and repent from our sins. Teenage girls can be prepared to hold a grudge for the next two weeks and make sure you sit alone at lunch...it doesn't matter how many times you appologize. Christ, on the other hand, is slow to anger and will show us mercy and love like He did "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8
