" I'm so blessed "
" #blessed "
" too blessed to be stressed "
These catchy little phrases are all over social media, school hallways, and homes. I even use them and I'm sure you do, as well. But what exactly do we mean by "blessed?"
⠀
When people think of being blessed, their thoughts generally go to their home, family, friends, and possessions...but are these things really what makes us so blessed?
Psalm 34:8 says, "Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him."
Often times we think of being blessed with the physical things in our lives, with plans that are going right, with people or places we love...but being blessed is so much more than that! Everything doesn't have to be going right in your life for you to be blessed! When we put #blessed on our Instagram posts, or have "too blessed to be stressed" in our bios, we need to really think about what it is that makes us so blessed! It's not the dreamy boyfriend you have, the perfect prom dress you found on sale, or the new iPhone you just bought; what makes us so extremely blessed is the salvation we have through Christ and Christ alone, the ability we have to be joyful in painful times, the fact that we get to talk personally with the creator of the universe! So, when you talk to your friends about being "so blessed," explain that it isn't through the physical worldly things around you, but the things that come from God.
Love,
Natalie
